Whether you are a beginner or
a trained singer/performer/teacher, Monstar Music's
philosophy for voice tuition is the same:
" To provide an
unbiased, safe and comfortable environment
where voice production can be explored,
discussed, practiced and controlled".
The
Focus on Beginners
Now that
you've made the decision to take
singing lessons, you'll probably
find that it is quite confronting to sing for the
first time in a lesson. You may have started lessons because you have
been asked to sing at a wedding, in
a band, have an interest in Musical
Theatre or even simply enjoy
singing. The discovery of your
voice, what it can do and how you
can be in charge can be very
exciting.
Beginner lessons involve a general
exploration how your vocal folds,
breathing, tongue, and muscles work
in relation to the style of singing
you are most interested in. With
practice, performance and
understanding, you will begin to
gain control and improve the quality
of the sounds you want
to make.
The Focus on Intermediate & Advanced
Singers
As a singer/performer/teacher,
it is likely you have had singing
lessons for quite a while and one
question that continues to cross
your mind is:
"How
am I doing this?".
You are not alone.
With further
exploration and
understanding of the anatomy and
physiology of the (your) larynx, you can
further discover how to isolate and
control groups of muscles
effectively and safely in vocal
styles and situations associated with
using twang, belting, opera, sob,
falsetto and speaking.
Build a strong support system while
removing the "push" from your
singing and leaving less to chance.
Continue to ask questions about your
voice. Don't be left in the dark.
All voice tuition at Monstar Music is provided by voice
instructor Greg van Bergen (Director
of Monstar Music).
